Product Lines include Interior/Exterior Accessories (Organizers, Floor Mats, and Decals); Maintenance & Repair (Tools, Gages, Adhesives and Cleaning Supplies); Lighting (Fuses and Bulbs); Electronics (Audio/Video Equipment, Radar Detectors and GPS); Traveler Accessories (Bedding, Luggage and Personal/Pet Care); Toys & Novelties (Games, Giftware and Toys) and Safety Equipment (Cargo Control, Emergency Kits and Devices).
LOCATION: Northwest, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of Merchandising this position is 1 of 4 Category Managers responsible for the Purchasing of durable and non-durable Automotive Accessories and related Merchandise. Role is responsible for examining, selecting, ordering and purchasing the most favorable priced Merchandise consistent with quality, quantity and specification requirements, with a result of increased Company Revenue and Customer satisfaction. Duties include: meet with Sales and Purchasing Team to analyze Buying Trends, Sales Records and Pricing according to Economic Conditions in order to forecast Inventory requirements; coordinate with Vendors of Materials, Equipment and Supplies to determine Product availability and Terms; obtain and develop desired Products; negotiate Prices, Discounts and Transportation; select, order and authorize Payments and prepare and process Requisitions and Orders. Additional responsibilities include setting Mark-up Rates & Sale Prices, locating and organizing Inventory and operating Spreadsheet & Word Processing Software.

EXPERIENCE: Purchasing and Category Management experience in Automotive Accessories (or related Products like Hardware) with Sourcing and Vendor Relations in China. A proven history of ‘keeping a finger on the pulse’ of Competition to maintain and increase Margins and Turnover based on Company Projections.
