Job Title: Vice President of Operations / Plant Manager

CLIENT: A well-established Division of an enormously successful Company that has been in Business for over 80 years. Company started in the 1920’s selling Flour and Feed and began its Pet Food Division in the 1940’s. Having a total of (3) three Facilities throughout the Midwest, this Division Manufactures and Distributes a line of Dry Dog Food, Baked Biscuits and Extruded Semi-moist Treats.

LOCATION: Midwest.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the President (off-site), Position responsibilities involve Management of all Manufacturing activities of a 80,000 sq. ft., Non-Union Facility running 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (depending on Business and Sales). Candidate will be responsible for Supervising 60 individuals with 2 Direct Reports. Total P&L responsibility including Operations, Health and Safety, Production, Quality Control, Fill Rates, Cost Reduction, Plant Capacity Expansion, Quality Improvement and Manage Purchasing, Maintenance, Engineering and R&D. Candidate will Manage Staff by delegating authority to Key Supervisors in Production, Production Control, Maintenance and related Operations while maintaining Employee Relations, Staffing, Scheduling, Inventory and Safety.

PERSONALITY: Self-motivated, Team-Player with proven ability to communicate at all levels of Business. High integrity Professional with strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through. Proactive; able to look at the “big picture” to sustain Growth and Profitability through analytical, intelligent and fact-based Forecasting; and confident in one’s own ability to take Projects successfully from start to finish.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of (3) three to (5) five years experience Managing an Engineered Consumer Products Manufacturing Facility in the Pet Food Arena. Our Client enjoys and needs an experienced Components Manufacturer familiar with all in-house work. Due to expansion and building of a New Facility for Treats and Biscuits, must be “mechanically inclined” for upgrading.

COMPENSATION: Targeted Compensation at $150,000 to $200,000 range. Careful attention given to each Candidate based on experience and accomplishments, as they relate to the Position.
