CLIENT: An established, privately held and recognized leading Manufacturer of High-Quality, all Natural Pet Foods. Exhibiting a history of remarkable year over year growth, they are among the Sales leaders in the Natural Pet Food niche. The Company markets exclusively through the Independent Distribution and Retail Channel as well as through Veterinarians Nationwide. Our Client follows the strictest of Pet Food Manufacturing guidelines to ensure Products that set the benchmark in the Industry. The Company’s dedication to Independent Pet Food Distributors and Retailers, and to Quality and Food Safety set them apart from other Natural Pet Food Brands and has placed them on the Leading Edge of Pet Nutrition.

LOCATION: Midwest.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the President, responsibilities involve: Developing and Implementing successful National Sales Strategies that deliver increased Sales and Profits in the Natural/Holistic Pet Food Market. This individual will Direct, Motivate and Coach a Team of (4) four to (6) six Sales Managers and up to (2) two dozen Territory Sales Managers. This is a key position that includes creating and maintaining effective Distributor relationships, analyzing Sales Results and developing approaches for improvement while setting long term Sales strategies and direction for growth. Other duties include: the Selection, Training and Development of Sales Personnel to work independently and effectively while working effectively with other Departments including: Marketing, Finance, R&D, Operations and Administration. Travel estimated at 50%.

PERSONALITY: Seeking a strong Leader who Manages through a hands-on approach. Must be a Motivated Self-Starter, who will represent themselves well on both a personal and professional level. Needs to be decisive and both Quality and Cost Conscious. A consistent goal achiever and a creative thinker, capable of multi-tasking and staying ambitious while maintaining a sense of urgency. Must possess strong written, verbal, negotiating skills and a passion for growing Sales and Market dominance in the Pet Industry.

EXPERIENCE: As a Member of the Executive Management Team the ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of Senior Level Sales Leadership experience (strengths in Natural and Holistic Pet Food preferred), with a strong working knowledge of Natural Pet Food Products being highly desirable. Successful experience with Independent Distribution and Independent Retail Channel to Market is essential, along with a verifiable track record of success and growth in personal Sales and Management. The successful Candidate should have a solid understanding of small companion animal nutrition in order to meet the requirements of the Company’s Mission Statement in a competent, confident, and efficient manner. Must be computer literate. Member of Industry recognized Trade Associations. College Degree. An experienced Traveler.

COMPENSATION: Base Salary in the six-figure range plus Bonus (commensurate with experience).
